Thank you very much for inviting me to judge all the Miniatures at The Midland Dachshund Club Breed show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and would like to thank my steward for doing a wonderful job and to my exhibitors for a large, quality entry.

 

Dachshund (Mini Long Haired)

Puppy Dog (4/0)

1st - Mc Carthy - Nagshall Digby Mac -BPD & BP

Smart puppy with good head, dark almond shaped eyes, correct dark pigment, nice ear set and strong mouth. Elegant neck with well laid shoulder and decent return of upper arm. Plenty of prosternum, long keel and good deep ribcage for age. Well angulated quarters. Held topline on move, sweeping underline. Good feet. Moved well. 

2nd - Walters - Metadale Masterchef

Handsome young puppy who was slightly spooky today, but we had a noisy hall. Beautiful head with very dark eyes and nice ear set. Well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm, hind quarters still developing. Nice topline and sweeping underline. Beautiful in profile on the move. 1st was more balanced today.

2nd - Mortlock - Metadale Leandros At Hertsmerry

Handsome male with nice expression. Nicely angulated shoulders but slightly over angualted behind. Good topline although underline could sweep more. Good feet.

1st - McCarthy - Nagshall Wotsitalabout

Quality male with real hound head. Fabulous dark eyes and dark pigment. Nicely angulated shoulers with good length of upper arm. Chest still to deepen. Matching angulation behind. Strong topline with good strong short loin and sweeping underline. Slightly loose rear movement but beautiful in profile.

 

Limit Dog (2/0)

1st - Latham-Jackson - Criscan Leonel Of Urishay - BD

Slightly weaker in head for me but good dark pigment. Correct length to height ratio. Lovely balanced angulation throughout. Nice topline with strong loin and sweeping underline. Best mover in males today, showing reach and drive.

2nd - McCarthy - Nagshall Just Santana JW - RBD

Beautiful head with stunning pigment, dark almond shaped eyes and correct ear set. Nicely angulated shoulders and quarters with good deep ribcage and long keel. Prefered the topline of 1st. Moved well though.

2nd - Broad - Neertanuf Sea Magic JW Sh.CM

Nice head, slightly round in eye for me.  Elegant neck with well laid shoulers, slightly shorter in upper arm.  Fair angulation behind. A little too much rise over the loin. Moved well coming and going.

 

Puppy Bitch (4/0)

1st - Lockett-Walters - Ralines Blind Date - RBB & BBP

Quality youngster although weaker in head for me. Good pigment. Nicely angulated shoulders with good length of upper arm, deep ribcage with long keel. Well angualted quarters. Plenty of bone and good feet. Carrying a little too much weight which hid her  topline and underline.  Moved well.

2nd - McCarthy - Nagshall Hey Karri Ann

Beautiful head with great pigment. Well laid shoulders with good deep chest and plenty of prosternum. Good topline and underline. Strong loin. Beautiful in profile on the move but lost to 1st on rear movement.

3rd - Mortlock - Metadale Leonie At Hertsmerry

1st - McCarthy - Nagshall Hey Karri Ann

2nd - Young - Willowheath Silver Charmer

Nice head, good strong neck and best front of the day.  Slightly shorter in ribbing although deep with good length of keel. Well angulated quarters and moved well. Quite a compact bitch.

3rd - Young - Wollowheath Veraa Lynn

Lovely class with three strong bitches. All had good heads although 1st was slightly rounder in back skull. All well angulated throughout and all showing good deep ribcages with decent lengths of keel.  1st won on movement, 2nd was slightly closer behind than 1st. All moved well in profile.

Real quality bitch with beautiful head, dark eyes of almond shape and correct ear set. Elegant but strong neck with well laid shoulders, good length of upper arm, deep chest with good length of keel and strong loin. Well angulated quarters. Lovely topline and sweeping underline. Not overdone in anyway. Moved really well and beautifully presented.

2nd - Norris - Criscan Karess

Another quality bitch. Slightly weaker in head for me. Good pigment. Strong neck. Well angulated shoulers, deep ribcage, slightly shorter in keel than 1st. Strong loin. Well angulated quarters. Nice topline and underline. Moved well.

Nice feminie bitch with good head, dark eyes and elegant neck. Great topline and sweeping underline. Well laid shoulders but slightly shorter and steeper in upper arm. Chest could be deeper and slightly shorter in keel than others today. Moved well.

2nd - McCarthy - Nagshall Love Actually JW

NIce bitch but weaker in head for me, lacking fill below eyes and width of jaw. Well laid shoulders, fairly deep chest and longer in keel than 1st. Well angulated quarters. Nice topline. Could do with a bit more condition for me.

Very handsome quality young male. Stunning head with fabulous dark eyes of almond shape. Dark pigment. Well laid shoulders with good length of upper arm. Good depth of chest with prominent prosternum and long keel. Nice length of ribbing. Stong and deep loin. ell angulated quarters with good width of second thigh. Strong topline and underline. Shows real reach and drive. Well handled and presented. Pleasure to judge.

2nd - Gittins - My Mr Bo Jangles At Boomerloo

Caught my eye as soon as he walked into the ring although slightly large for me. Stunning head, dark almond shaped eyes and great pigment. Real quality. Elegand neck with good lay back of shoulder. Prominent prosternum and long keel. Well angulated quarters. Good topline and sweeping underline. Lost of movement to 1st as was quite spooky today, but we did have a very noisy hall.

Real handsome male, a true hound of real quality. Fabulous head with darkest of eyes and gorgeous expression. Wonderful strong neck, well laid shoulders with correct length of upper arm, well sprung ribs of correct length and long keel. Well angulated quarters with good width of second thigh. Strong topline, deep loin and sweeping underline. Plenty of bone. Moved really well showing effortless reach and drive. Pleasure to judge.

 

Post Graduate (2/1)

1st - Phillips - Arbennik St Thomas Of Robinswood

Smart male with good head, dark eyes and good ear set. Strong neck, well laid shoulders and good length of upper arm, slightly over angulated behind. Good topline and underline. Prefer slightly more bone. Movement slightly wide going away.

 

Limit Dog (2/0)

1st Ergis - Siouxline Aaron JW - RBD

Another quality male, good head, ear set and pigment. Correctly angulated throughout with nice width of second thigh. Strong topline, good deep loin and sweeping underline. Enough bone. Moved very well showing plenty of reach and drive. Pleasure to judge.

2nd - Phillips - Carpaccio Mr Selfridge Of Robinswood

Handsome male, nice head, good dark eye and correct ear set. Very similar to 1st but slightly weaker in loin. Moved very well again showing plenty of reach and drive. Well presented.

1st - Protheroe - Grandgables Crafty Lil Devil At Royalmaple

Handsome male again with good head, dark eyes and correct ear set. Elegant neck with well laid shoulders and good length of upper arm. Slightly over angulated behind. Good topline and sweeping underline. Plenty of bone and good feet. Well presented.

 

Puppy Bitch (3/1)

1st - Boyce - Hollygor Heaven Sent - BPB

2nd - Hughes - Siouxline Tiana To Julidachs

Both smart and feminine puppies. Good heads and dark eyes. Both have well laid shoulders with matching quarters. Both have good toplines and sweeping underlines although 1st is slightly deeper in chest and slightly more mature than 2nd at this stage. Both a pleasure to watch on the move and judge.

1st - Kerry - Kireton Cici

Compact youngster. Feminine with good head. Well constructed shoulders and quarters with good width of second thigh. Strong topline and underline. Short and strong deep loin. Moved well but would prefer slightly more reach. True coming and going.

2nd - Protheroe - Grandgables Ms Everso Yummy At Royalmaple

Beautiful head with softer expression than 1st. Elegant neck flowing into well angulated shoulders with decent length of upper arm. Well sprung ribcage of good length.  Slightly too much tuck today affecting topline on the move. Good feet.

 

Post Graduate (6/2)

1st - Reed - Deercroft Summer Serenade JW

Feminine bitch with nice head although a little too round in eye for me. Correct ear set and strong jaw. Well angulated front and quarters, chest still to drop slightly but good long keel and nice long ribcage. Enough bone. Good topline and underline. Moved well.

2nd - Price - Brianolf Pink Sapphire With Samlane

Another nice bitch with a better head and eye than 1st.  Nice strong neck with well angulated shoulders and good quarters. Topline strong and sweeping underline with deep loin. Moved true coming and going although lost to 1st on profile movement. Prefer more reach and drive.

3rd - Curtis - Curtisey Peggy Sue

1st - Salisbury - Brocklewood Black Rose JW - BB & RBOB

2nd - Hughes - Julidachs Jocasta

Two very nice bitches. Both have beautiful heads, hound like although feminine.  Dark eyes, dark pigment and correct ear set. Great toplines although 1st had a slightly better underline. Both are correctly angulated throughout. Deep chests and enough keel. 1st won on rear movement going away, both lovely in front and correct in profile. Pleasure to judge.

Both very nice bitches, 1st has a stunning head. Both feminine  and in no way over done. Nicely angulated shoulders and with prominent prosternums, good length to height ratio. Stong topines and sweeping underlines. 1st was slightly more balanced on the move today.

Handsome young boy with  good dark pigment, almnd shaped eyes and correct ear set. Think his shoulders still need some time to settle into place. Chest deepening, good long keel. Smart little male who just needs some more time. Pleasing to watch.

1st - Lancaster - Pellismer Ott Deal - RBD

Good head with dark eyes and strong mouth. Well angulated shoulders with decent length of upper arm and prominent prosternum. Well sprung ribcage with long keel. Strong loin which was deep. Slightly over angulated behind. Coat could do with a little more attention, however good texture and undercoat. Handled well.

Very handsome Red boy with dark eyes and good pigment. Strong mouth and correct ear set. Strong neck with well angulated shoulders and quarters. Good deep ribcage of good length and long keel. Good tough feet. Beautiful on the move showing plenty of reach and drive. Pleasure to judge.

Compact bitch, nice head, slightly rounder in eye for me, but dark. Strong neck, well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm, prominent prosternum, well sprung ribcage, long keel and well angulated quarters. Strong loin, slight rise in topline today on the move.  Good harsh coat and well presented.

2nd - Morris - Pennywave Uptown Girl

Beautiful head, dark almond shaped eyes, good pigment. Well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest. Good topline and underline. Slightly weaker in loin than 1st. Prefer the feet of 1st. Good harsh coat. Enough bone. Both moved well.

3rd - Salisbury - Barratini Hot Chick At Brocklwood

Strong bitch with nice head, dark eyes although slightly rounder than 2nd. Well angulated shoulders and quarters. Lovely toplinne. sweeping underline, strong loin. Plenty of bone. Good harsh coat with correct undercoat. Moved well.

2nd - Baker - Leversha Loveable Brogue

Slightly lighter built  than 1st, lacking a little substance for me. Good head. Would like better angulation front and rear. Topline good and strong, underline sweeping. Moved well in profile.

Smart bitch with quality head, dark eyes and good pigment. Slightly leggier than others today but nice angulation front and rear. Good strong topline, deep loin and sweeping underline. Good feet. Harsh coat with correct undercoat. Effortless on the move showing true reach and drive. One of the best movers I have seen today.

2nd - Morris - Stargang Quintina At Pennywave

Smart bitch with good head, dark almond shaped eyes and dark pigment. Well angulated shoulders with good length of upper arm, matching quarters. Deep chest, long keel, correct topline and sweeping underline.  Nice and straight coming and going but prefer more drive behind.
