Puppy Bitch (3,2)

1st Vincent’s Metadale Monica At Gainscroft, very much a puppy, very feminine head with dark appealing eyes, good reach of neck, stood true and in good condition ribbing was decent as was the underline, moved true up and back, BP.

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1st Vincent’s Tan Socks At Gainscroft, smaller in frame than ideal but everything is there in proportion, moved with the correct drive and was true up and back, in the challenge I felt that she displayed enough to warrant BOB and was more than happy to award as such.

Open Dog (2,0)

1st Chauhan’s CH Wanderhund Viva Las Vegas. A very impressive outline, in profile he looked strong, appealing head on a long muscular neck flowing gracefully into well laid back shoulders, deep keel with plenty of ground clearance, good ribbing and a decent topline which he kept on the move, a very worthy champion and more than happy to award Best Dog, in the BOB challenge I just felt that the bitch’s movement was more appealing.

2nd Kerry’s Kireton Beau Diddley, longer in body than 1st but still had the correct ratio of rib to loin, displayed a good top and underline and pleasing angles, preferred movement today of 1st.

Junior Bitch (1,0)

1st Stark’s Adnerbs Won Vision Of Gobannium, stood over the ground nicely, presenting a great shape with good clean lines, very feminine head with good length of neck, nicely angulated quarters and moved true all ways.

Post Grad Bitch (1,0)

1st Higgin’s Leveliss Rock Lobster, very feminine head on a good reach of neck, correctly angled forequarters, tight elbows, top and underlines are pleasing as is the length of rib, moved true up and back.

Limit Bitch (2,0)

1st Chauhan’s Adnerbs Take A Chance On Me At Raajput, a lovely shape, I liked how balanced she is with correctly angulated quarters, great length of rib and short well muscled lower thighs, on the move she is spectacular displaying long powerful strides very stylish and movement was so true.

2nd Hinwood’s Longmel Special Truffle, smaller in frame than 1st, good head with almond eye and correct ear set, I liked her shoulder placement and front angles but movement was not as positive as 1st.

Open Bitch (1,0)

1st Lockett-walters & McDermott’s Ralines For Pete’s Sake, very impressive outline when stacked and on the move, loved how effortlessly everything just flowed together, decent neck into well placed shoulders, tight elbows, great length and return of upper arm, ribbed well back with a short strong loin, powerful hind quarters that she used to power herself around the ring. BOB and pleased to watch her win BIS.

Many thanks to Daniel and his committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely Christmas show. I was very pleased to watch my BOB Smooth go BIS and my BP wire go BPIS.

Dachshund (Wire-Haired)

Puppy dog (4,0)

1st Graham’s Stanegate Shot In The Dark, a very well balanced outline, longer in body than 2nd but has a good length of rib, strong head with plenty of neck, nicely angulated quarters, I preferred the coming towards action over 2nd.

2nd Matthews’s Stanegate Billy The Kid, lovely proportions on this youngster, I liked his overall front construction, pleasing top and underlines and he moved well with plenty of drive.

3rd Howe’s Bramalodge Blue Monday

Junior Dog (2,0)

1st Osbourne’s Derochaise Vincenzo Di Braego, gorgeous head on this masculine boy, decent length of neck flowing gracefully into well placed shoulders, good ribbing with a short loin, very stylish on the move but tends to coopy down on the stack.

2nd Matthew’s Stanegate Billy The Kid, 2nd in puppy.

Post Grad Dog (2,0)

1st Howe’s Kissdachs Bilbao At Bramalodge, good head and neck, nicely angulated quarters, pleasing length of rib, preferred his movement to that of 2nd.

2nd Baker’s Tilstock Leo, a pleasing outline when stacked, not the angles of 1st, maintained a level topline on the move.

Limit Dog (2,0)

1st Chambers’s Cishelvine Just A Kiss With Hototo, Both of these dogs are so typey, nothing is exaggerated in either of them and I had a very difficult time in placing them but on the day I preferred this very elegant red, strong head with a good length of neck, super front construction with very pleasing top and underlines, ribbing is good with a short loin, true coming and going and very stylish on the go round.

2nd Adam’s Tecklegarth Gatling JW, judged before as a 9 month old puppy, loved him then and love him now, many of the comments above apply to him but unfortunately on the day I preferred the coming action of 1st.

Open Dog (1,0)

1st Moore & Downes’s Megline Aramis (IMP ROM), very smart outline, masculine all over, strong head with almond shaped eye, plenty of neck flowing into correctly angulated forequarters nicely put together moved ok in this class, in the challenge however movement was a lot better and he showed enough for me to award him best dog.

Puppy Bitch (6,1)

1st Chambers’s Elderkine Rumours, cliché I know but this super smart youngster caught my attention as soon as she walked into the ring, the most gorgeous shape so very balanced, very feminine head with such a sweet expression, good neck with pleasing overall front construction, clean lines and nicely angulated rear, movement was true up and back and and stylish on the go round, very pleased to award BP and delighted to watch her go BPIS.

2nd Matthews’s Wyeknot Come Fly With Me, pleasant outline nothing exaggerated, good lay of shoulder, tight elbows, decent length of under rib, movement was true and maintained a decent topline.

3rd Eldred’s Derdledash Moon Beam

Junior Bitch (4,1)

1st Matthews’s Wyeknot Come Fly With Me, see 2nd in puppy, best mover in this class.

2nd Gibson’s Allfreys Matilda, preferred the outline and overall balance of 1st although I did like her front construction, good head and eye with pleasing top and underlines.

3rd Fitzgerald’s Fowlerheight Moonshine At Harlilsun

Post Grad Bitch (4,2)

1st Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel Lilac Wine, feminine head with almond shaped eye, pleasing lay of shoulder and good length of upper arm, I like her overall front construction, good topline which was maintained on the move, movement was true up and back.

2nd Baker’s Allfreys Henriett, good length of neck, tight elbows, pleasing underline, today movement was lacking drive.

Limit Bitch (5,2)

1st Coverley’s Aventine Dolcetto, higher on the leg than 2nd, but still presented a pleasing outline, nicely angulated forequarters with a good length and return of upper arm, clean top and underline and movement today was the best in this class.

2nd Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel Kiss From A Rose JW, bigger in frame than 1st, attractive head with plenty of neck, looked lovely on the stack with well angulated quarters, just preferred the rear drive of 1st today.

3rd Howe’s Bramalodge Betsy Button

Open Bitch (4,1)

1st Gibson’s Allfreys Helena, stunning outline when stacked, perfectly balanced with wonderfully angulated quarters, moved true all ways, more than happy to award BOB.

2nd Coverley’s Aventine Amarela, again stunning in outline when stacked a very typey bitch, good head with plenty of neck, tight elbows, I did prefer her underline to that of 1st but today her movement was not as effortless as that of 1st.

3rd Hutchings’s Tendrow I Am The One From Collidach JW
